*

I have the 20" stock wheels and love the look. But as I begin to think about some brand-new wheels because that the Ram, I might not assist but an alert the difference in price between the 17" and the 20". My expertise is the journey is smoother v the smaller wheel. Ns am no a wheel skilled by any method so I would certainly love come hear opinions/advice of various other forum members.

It all counts on what your gonna run for tires. I have a 2011 lamb 1500 to express 2 door and I am running 20 customs rims but I to be gonna stick with the 20s and get some better rims for the summer. But if your doing some day-to-day driving and also off roading go through the 17inch and get a aggressive trail tire. Ns recommend some XD rims and also tires heres the attach I usage to orderhttp://www.tirepackage.com/Wheels/XD-Series-Wheels.aspx?t_c=11&t_s=210&t_pt=100106

Thanks for the link. I will inspect it out. 99% of mine driving is on the street. While I have a 4x4, I do not off-road for this reason I probably won"t go v a really aggressive tire. Top top my critical truck, I had BFG every Terrains and also loved them however when it come time to switch I put on some Michelins that were more street than meat. Wow, that boosted the smoothness the the drive significantly however of course, I shed the tougher look.

OK than i would stick with the 20"s and get a noble ass-rim, I always go black gloss v some chrome yet all black color looks ailing on any type of Dodge lol

I would certainly go with the 17" an ext side wall surface to protect the rim. Also though friend see tiny non-highway use, potholes are still a killer. Myself ns don"t check out the suggest of anything bigger than 17" wheel on anything however a semi, or a straight truck.

I to be wondering the exact same thing, idk if I should bother upgrading mine 16" share wheels come 17""s or 18""s..but i really carry out like several of the kmc wheel so I simply might..
I"ve owned both 20" and also 17" rims top top my present truck. I like the 17" rims because that comfort and also daily driving. I live in Colorado so i went with a an excellent AT tire. The Firestone location AT is a good tire. The link does impressive on ice, handle all species of snow/rain and also is quieter 보다 the stock tires (which don"t execute well in ice). The price is ideal as well. I at this time have V-Tech Raptor 17" rims and here"s a pic to present you what castle look like.Hope this helps.PS. Mine truck has been debadged, shorty antenna added, and also N-Fab step bars added since this pics to be taken.

which rim size will be much easier to uncover tires for? a 17 or 18 inch? Iv narrowed my decision under to those two lol
I have discovered in the past that the 17" rims gained way far better gas milage top top my critical truck (2003 GMC Sierra 4.8l V8. This is my an initial dodge and I will never ever go back). The 17" rims did better for journey quality. Few of the milage and ride are acquired by the reduction in rotating fixed (rim/tire) and the diminished unsprung load (any component not supported by the suspension(wheels axles brakes and also suspension). The journey will also get better with a larger much more flexable side wall surface on the 17" tires. I say go for the lightest tire/rim combo you have the right to find. Something lighter 보다 your stock 20"s would be a good choice no issue what size.
I included a poll at the top so us can catch opinions native those who post as well as those who don"t post but have an opinion. Polls space open!

Just wondering about issues with recalibrating the speedo and also odometer? That will certainly be vital unless girlfriend can find a 17" tire v the very same height/roll out as your share 20"s have. Simply food because that thought. BTW...I vote for 20"s. I can not imagine going under to 17"s.

The Code, going indigenous 16 to 17 wouldnt make that much difference and may not also be noticible in ~ all. The load of the 17" wheel shouldn"t be the much an ext than the 16" uneven you gain something crazy. And you can discover the exact same height/rollout in a 17" tire together you carry out a 16" tire so nothing would certainly change. My poll is for 20"s. Because that the straightforward reason you have actually 20"s and everything is calibrated to occupational with that size tire. ABS, suspension , speedo transmission ect...

well I"d choose to go through 20"s but I think 18"s would certainly prob be much better for my truck and much more practical price wise
Thanks to anyone for the feedback for this reason far. Existing polling status:70% for 20" wheels30% because that 17" wheels

I love the watch of the 20"s on the third and 4th gen trucks. I would never ever consider changing mine come anything else. A many of world seem to it is in in a hurry to acquire aftermarket wheel to change the stock 20s. There space some yes, really nice aftermarket wheels but I actually love the stockers. I think castle are much sexier than most other share rims. But, the course, it"s every in what friend like. You look at her truck much more than anyone else, lol.As because that gas mileage and ride quality...I"m sure 17s would do better on both counts however my van rides fine with stock 20s and some an excellent tires. And if i was the concerned about gas mileage i wouldn"t have actually bought a full size V8 truck...especially a Dodge, lmao!!!!The Codes...if you room looking to upgrade I would certainly go with 18s on her truck. The only means I would put anything enlarge on it is if you are providing it a significant lift and also can placed some median tires on to be well. Just my 2 cents.
