INPUT/OUTPUT SIGNAL CHART

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

Firing order: 1 - 3 - 4 - 2The ignition timing is managed by the ECM to keep the finest air-fuel proportion for every running condition of theengine. The ignition timing data is stored in the ECM.

The ECM receives info such as the injection pulse width and also camshaft position sensor (PHASE) signal.

Computing this information, ignition signals are transmitted to the power transistor.

During the following conditions, the ignition time is amendment by the ECM follow to the other data stored inthe ECM.

• at starting

• during warm-up

• in ~ idle

• At short battery voltage

• throughout acceleration

The knock sensor retard mechanism is designed only for emergencies. The straightforward ignition time is programmedwithin the anti-knocking zone, if encourage fuel is supplied under dried conditions. The retard device does not

operate under typical driving conditions. If engine knocking occurs, the knock sensor monitors the condition.
