I"ve been seeing some men talking bout setup the space of the plugs in a vortec under to 0.40 instead of 0.60, mine are at 0.60 and it runs great but if dropping it down to 0.40 will help it out i will do it however I aint discovered a straight answer on it really so lets get some feedback ~ above this reason Its stuck in my head. Thanks

Gapping them in ~ .060 will offer you a better spark & fire the mixture better & v gas pull close $4.00 a gallon this is wherein I"d leaving them. Gapping them under to .040 just gains girlfriend if her coil is weak, or your wires are marginal since a .040 space is much easier to jump. Likewise some lazy types set them in ~ .040 because as the space erodes after countless fireings castle don"t need to R&I the plugs & regap them. They simply erode indigenous a .040 gap to the .060 or past & by the time the gaps are acquiring too wide, it"s time to replace them anyway for this reason they never have to R&I the plugs except to replace them.

Mike Heartbeat just sent me an e-mail with a link that tells why you DON"T change plug gaps ~ above iridium or platinum plugs. He claimed the iridiums room gapped at .040 & the platinums space gapped at .060 & you must not shot and adjust them. Mike to know a lot
about this stuff so I would certainly follow his advice. Because yours have the .060 gaps I"m guessing you have actually the AC Delco platinums, for this reason if you have the platinums gapped at .060 leaving them there. Below is Mikes" link.http://www.usmam.org/forum/sho...=Damaged+Plugs
